Hearing defying gravity brought back so many memories of me watching wicked on Broadway for the first time. Cant wait to see cynthia ervio, and Ariana grande sing together 💛💖.

They switched the Ruby Slippers to the Silver Slippers, but still kept the Emerald City green when it was originally made of White Marble. It would've been jarring for the viewers, I suppose, but it would've been interesting. Everyone only saw emeralds because of the glasses they wore.

the original wizard of Oz book from the early 20th century
, the famous 1939 film,
the original book version of wicked in 1995
and the musical version of wicked.
My favorite thing to compare in all four versions is what leads up to throwing the bucket of water on the wicked witch

if you're going to do a remake of Wicked, then at least make sure the people in the roles can actually sing their parts AS WRITTEN. One of the reasons we love Idina (beside the fact she has a killer voice) is that she can hit those notes. Same goes for Kristin Chenowith. That ending note already showed they are half stepping it and changed the original key. I'll watch it but am pretty sure I won't watch it twice. Such a shame.
