Not a huge Ariana grande fan, but I've always been a huge fan of the musical and the book. I will definitely be seeing it.

$145-150 million estimated production budget. This means this film has to rake in about 3 times that amount in order to just break even. Looking at the recent history of musicals, well, it's not looking too good. Wicked is indeed more popular [pun intended] in Western audiences but has limited to no appeal in foreign countries. I'm predicting it's DOA after a decent opening weekend as it's gonna drop hard the 2nd week. Time will tell.
