Out for a ride for fun, I go from country roads and talk about riding in the distance you can see. Then, off to the city, dealing with people who do not like motorcycle's filtering...again!

That landing craft used to be in Birkenhead I remember visiting it years ago. I never knew it was moved to Portsmouth, sadly a lot of the other ships at that museum were scrapped when it closed.

I rode 82 mile round trip from my house round Rutland water and back on Friday sticking to mainly back lanes. Lots of gravel, adverse cambers and tractors but most enjoyable ride. Ps I miss my xj6 diversion, there’s something about an air cooled 4 cylinder.

14:50 Hazard a guess - Green Energy Improvements thingy [basically installing 100mm wall cladding to improve 'energy efficiency']

there was a book I read years ago, I think it was published by the AA, called "Britain On Back Roads". Many adventures had on unsigned country roads on my pushbike. Time to revisit them on a motorcycle. Apparently you can go the length and breadth of the country on back roads. I can certainly vouch for having gone from Nottingham to Inverness and only seeing 16 miles of A road the entire way. Oh and I only used £50 worth of E5.

I seen the new Alien romulus movie really good. At 8:56 hate when drivers do that to me they can clearly see me.

8:58 Had 'one' of those recently. One of those "Hey you're jumping the queue - not going to let you in" types...the sort of padded metal safety cage controller where the famous tshirt/sweatshirt/hoodie with that 'its legal' would come in handy but you've put it in your draw saving it to wear when you know you're going to need it.
^I know, I know....if only I had worn it then...then the other hand gestures and f bombs wouldn't be necessary ^

I do love the country roads its the only time the headphones get turned off and my full concentration is given to the road. Calimoto loves sending me down the tightest ones with crazy locals that know the roads so they don't feel the need to drive slow. 🤣

Would like to hear your thoughts on the large numbers of bikers currently losing their lives in the peak district. Definitely some cars involved here and there, but not always. Also seeing a theme developing of "in their 50s" and "Ducati". been an almost weekly thing this year.

honestly, the only "bikers" that have bad rep for me, are the kids and less intelligent folk that race around on pit bikes, stolen or unregistered 125s & mopeds. they always have no exhaust, no helmet, no leathers and most importantly no braincells... will happily undertake you then brake check you because you dared to beep at them. police are almost powerless against them as they wont pursue or because they go off-road and down farm tracks are unable too. but these aren't bikers, they're just antisocial ruffians! lmao

Also The "must get in front" mentality is honestly so scary with how many people have it. I'm not a biker, but I cant imagine just how scary it could be having someone too close for comfort and driving aggressively. it honestly is intimidating sometimes even for car drivers. I had a incident with someone last night who wasn't satisfied with me going the speed limit, then proceeded to get annoyed when they couldn't overtake at the roundabout... they were swerving about and getting WAY to close. In the end when we come to the next set of lights I just waited for them to go and get in front. not worth the risk and id rather have them in front where I can control the situation. If at any point I had to stop quickly, I would have been rear-ended. which very well could be life changing for anyone on a bike

Ride safe :D

Well spicy I feel you on riding for the sake of riding it's always fun to do the back lanes even if your on the "wrong" bike haha I dunno but I think I would have made the excuses to leave on the trusty DRZ then say oh bother I need to go back and get the XJ6 to go into town for the shopping 😂 but I also hear you on the 💷💷💷 front so I understand why that might not of been such a good idea.

Love finding "Lake beds" in the lanes, love kicking up a bit cloud of dust behind me.
Have you seen The Wondering Earth? Chinese sci fi flick, pretty good watch, really... get's a bit daft/weird. But I've just found out there's a second one released recently. If you can find it, might well be worth a watch.
How much is fuel up near you? We're down to around £1.45 ish. Trago Mill's is the cheapest I've seen at about 12p cheaper than anywhere else.

Yeah cos 125s are redlining it everywhere but also because theyre younger riders they still think straight piped singles actually sound good 😂

I find joy rides are not as cheap as they used to be. When I went on Sunday to the Italian bike day at Sammy Miller's Motorcycle Museum i was recharging at 73 p/kWh, not the 15p I pay at home. It cost me £13 for a 170 mile trip.

Hey! You do realise that you can do 60mph in those high hedged overgrown narrow and tight twisty lanes with liberal amounts of gravel here and there and this time of year, spilt corn? Whereas, on more open, straighter street lit roads you're limited to 20, 30, 40, 50 and if your lucky - 60mph!
I'm sure it makes perfect sense, I just haven't worked it out yet.

I was riding very similar little lanes today with huge gravel beds up the middle. I was debating with myself which position is best on a left hand bend, if you tuck in left, no gravel, but speeding car coming the other way can't see you till it's too late.( One car width fills whole road) Felt safer for me to slow right down and ride either on the gravel or even on the right to give car drivers a better chance to see me. Braking with any force obviously demands getting off the gravel first. Thoughts?

Maybe you should add a 125cc bike to your stable? It'd be a cheap way to ride around those tight lanes and let's be honest, you aren't pushing anywhere near a 125's top speed on roads like that.
