The scene is funny, but I have to give Paul Dano credit for making it feel like a genuine mental breakdown. It never really felt like Batman as a whole focused that much on the mental illness aspects of its cast until this movie. Before they were just bad guys with funny outfits or sad backstories, now it really does feel like they’re going for a darker, more real approach.

Paul Dano was amazing in that role. A sadistic, psychotic, intelligent and realistic Riddler. As Edward Nashton, a mad and frustrated nerd. He causes even more fear than Barry Keoghan's Joker.
