What an insane quote from him. A wild man, through and through

There was no better picture for the last frame than that of Lovecraft and his beloved cat, NI-

Crazy that he's arguably the most influential horror writer of our history despite being an insane neet.

Bloodborne is one of the greatest tributes to lovecraft and I'm glad It's acknowledged in this edit

I am still astounded by the overwhelming tendency to associate Lovecraft only with cosmic horror and tentacles, while he had a Dream cycle with very beautiful, charming short stories. This man really could see the beauty in this universe, towns, architecture.

What a Chad. Your imagination was wild, and your writings were even better. Rest in peace, friend.

To anyone who is a fan of Lovecraft, but has never heard/seen/played *Bloodborne*:
I can safely tell you that it is, bar none, the single best tribute to the style of work that Lovecraft produced.

Why?

Because it uses his universe and ideas as inspiration to create something that is entirely new, and fresh.
Not only that but it manages to tie the cosmic horror into the gothic, and folk horror as well. The game literally layers the depth of the lore in different horror genres and it does so superbly.
Best of all, the act of uncovering, researching and piecing the lore within the game genuinely makes you feel like an anthropologist or an archeologist, stepping into a completely different world.

The game is absolutely wild because to this day, people still discuss the events of the lore and story.

I wish Lovecraft knew how much his work meant to us. It's quite sad that despite the fact that he probably had a much greater impact on pop culture than Tolkien himself, he never got to see it

As you can see here, lovecraft is explaining his fear of air conditioners and such things that humanity’s evils have concocted.

Lovecraft's work was incredible in every way. His thinking felt like it was ahead of its time.

Lovecraft never had a restful night. Each night he had night terrors from which he could not wake. He saw the dark universe was powerless to stop it

Lovecraft creates worlds, stories, characters. And ideas that can only be portrayed through the written word and even then perhaps words are wholly inadequate. Whether it was a gift or a curse that allowed him to write what he wrote, I cannot say. Regardless, the man was a genuis and I doubt I will ever read anything that could hope to dislodge from the spot he holds as my favorite author. Ever.

He was an amazing writer and I love everything he wrote. Filmmakers are trying to recreate it but his books are just in another level.
