Political system of Monaco
Albert II is the present monarch of Monaco, and the country's parliament has 24 seats that are chosen by the people. The defence of France is France's responsibility. The Principality of Monaco does not own any natural resources, arable land, or an income tax.
The flag of Monaco is comprised of four equal horizontal bands of red and white, with the red band beginning at the top of the flag. They are the official colours of the Grimaldi House, which now holds the throne of Monaco. It would seem that the red colour stands for human flesh, while the white colour denotes innocence. 1841 was the year in which the first version of the national anthem of Monaco was written, and the medium of official communication in Monaco is French.
