More parts of the BMW R100S MY 1976 came in after long time waiting and I am happy about the huge progress in this video. Of course many problems appear and it still is a big hard puzzle to figure out which parts fit where on the bike (The owner disassembled the BMW R 100 S 20 years ago, had the frame parts coated and left everything in boxes). On the other side it is fun to do this huge adult puzzle, it feels good to pick something from a box and find out where it belongs. So in this video we mount the wheels, swingarm, rear gearbox with brake system and the front brake system. After all that mounted the rear sub frame can be mounted plus the shock absorbers (I wasnt able to mount them until now because they are mounted to the swing arm and the sub frame) and because it has to be done anyway we also do a service on the huge bing carburetors.
Did you know that these bikes came with a BMW hand air pump and even have an extra mounting point? Yeah I didn´t know either.

Did you know that these bikes have what I found out in the end of the video?? Fun surprise to me but not really useful in my opinion.

I recently got my mitts on a dualshock R65. airhead BMWs are wonderful machines and saving one is a worthy cause. good luck with the rebuild!

It is extremely important to use the recommended grease on the rear splines where you mount the wheel. Otherwise the rear drive will wear very quickly. The splines will break and you can be stranded. Very expensive repair.

Uuuh, it hurts when you put it together without grease. Like a nail on a windowpane. But perhaps you don't, after you stop filming?
