Ow how I wish we had this, it would be a very good start until we could customize everything. Maybe have this option for every piece of gear capes included, it would make everything look so amazing depending on the theme of the armor.

ArrowHead should really add paint or camouflage for armours.
We already got the mechs, FRV, hellpod, and pelican-1 camouflage.
So it made sense for our Helldivers to have custom camos for the armours.
Or just only allow the B-01 Tactical armour set to have custom armour color just to save them from the strain.

That would propably take a lot of new textures. But adding basic helldiver helmet if few camo variations would be neat. Green, white, beige, mustard - green, urban, jungle and desert camo. Thats just 7 new textures.

My shade of white with my trench paramedic helmet is not Wimbledon white unlike my butcher armor, this would help a lot

I think you would need some sort of material field to make sure the textures make sense on the material. In the last one when the hard plastic was given a fabric texture it looked weird. I think it would have looked better to have been given the texture of the armour's black body armour to the helmet rather then the grey fabric.
The fields could be something like: Hard, rubberlike/leatherlike, and then fabric.
Then parts of the helmet would have a "inherit armour texture" trait that makes it swap out for the appropriate armour texture with the "pass on texture to helmet" trait for when you colour match.

I do like the idea but I feel it would need something similar to these fields to make the texture match up nicely.

AFAIK its basically confirmed we're getting at least a small few recolors for each armor added in, so it might not be super expansive but it would open us up to a lot more.

They also should allow to choose between all the armor bonuses we have unlocked
Like you choose helmet armor cape design, the color, and the bonus u want to wear, depending if its a light medium or heavy armor

Either this or a Deep rock type paint scheme system for all armors where each unique coat can be applied to other armors when unlocked

Yes, this is exactly really the only color customization that I want. The way you've got it set up seems like it would be easier since they'd already have all the color values and such loaded up.

I hope they give us full color customization and armor customization. Looking at the variations of armor, they all seem to use similar, modified or the same exact pieces as other armors with either modifications or a hue change. It honestly doesn't seem impossible to get customization equal to or better than Halo Reach.

his is something I posted right at the start of the Helldivers2 journey and they ignored it. I noticed back then that all sets only have 3 colors and that you can change them.
My idea was to implement a system that has similarity to the color table of Paint.
