I just realized while watching this video that when creating arched openings, if I draw a circle (dimensioned on CARDINAL points per another one of your videos) between the sides of my opening, then scale the circle to form an oval with twice the height of my desired arch and erase the bottom half of the oval I get a much smoother arch transition to the verticals than using the arc tool to create the arch. Thanks for another great video!

This video just humbled me. I just learned at least three new things about a tool I thought I pretty much had mastered.

Thank you for this nice and clear free video.
I would suggest in this chapter the possibilitys offerred by the MEASURE tools to scale objects or project proportionnaly with precise value.

Thanks for sharing. You might consider going into the materials tool, since textures are affected by the scale tool. For example using fence and post textures on the horizontal as well as down a stairway. This is the only case I have come across that relies on the distort pin (the red button I think). If you really need a challenge, you can explain how UV maps change texture settings for several faced simultaneously

As always, great video. I always learn something from these tips, Aaron. Even when I think I already knew all there is to know about a particular topic.

I would like to see some simple examples of you building some dynamic components, even something as simple as limiting which scale nodes are usable.

You should have talked about the Scale definition feature built into Sketchup as the scale tool will distort the material and using the scale definition will reset the material back to normal.

To set the distance, you have to make sure you add the units designation. Also - why can't you using Inferencing when Scaling corner to corner? That other grips work, but not corner to corner.

IF EACH OF THOSE LEVELS WAS ITS OWN GROUP - - COULD YOU CUSTOM SCALE THE WHOLE THING?
(i.e. - - IF THEY WERE STACKED CUBES - - COULD YOU MAKE THE ENTIRE GROUP OF STACKED CUBES
SCALE LIKE A TRAPEZOID? (LIKE A PYRAMID)?

Can you change the origin point? I need to do that.

What if one wanted to scale the object uniformally but based off a measurement? Such as, i made a part in meters to do all my cuts and holes(avoid tiny face issue) but now i need to scale it down to inches or mm so that all dimensions are uniform ie if a hole was a radii of 3 meters but it needs to be scaled to 3 inches:) thanks

Am I still missing something, or is it not possible to type in absolute values when using the ctrl or shift modifiers with the scale tool? I feel like the modifiers should be toggles, which would then allow typing in values.

Thanks for that.... a great part of my day, learning to tweet with a command. Now if you can only coach me on how to generate a construction document and print "to scale"
