This video is the second in a series about the Visual Elements of Art and Design. Every work of Art & Design contains at least one of these seven Visual Elements (Line, Shape, Tone, Form, Texture, Colour, and Pattern), whether the artist put them there on purpose or not. Better understanding the Visual Elements and how they work together can help artists and designers create more effective works of art/design.

This video focuses on the second element; Shape. Shape refers to the two-dimensional area that is created when the ends of lines are joined together to create a closed area. The world of Art & Design is full of shapes, and in this video, we explore a few of the different ways of categorising them.
