I live in N.H. And have owned many snowblowers. I'm in my 60s and been around a while. I have a 650ft driveway that I plow, but it tends to get narrow over time from plowing. I used the snowblower to blow it wider when needed. I had an ariens pro 1336 with all the bells and whistles. I got tired of fighting with the front end riding up on bankings and hills. So I bought the honda hs1332 like in this video and there's no comparison to anything else out there. When it comes to quality and reliability and don't forget performance honda ownes it.

I own an Ariens Deluxe with the larger engine and I love it. The dealer where I purchased it carried both Ariens and Honda. Comparing feature-for-feature between the two, the Honda was nearly $1, 000 more. Yes, Honda makes quality equipment BUT you DO pay a premium for the name.

I bought HSS928 at end of last year, replacing my Cub Cadet after 16 years. This Honda is worth the money and it has steering and tracks for my older body. Dont have to muscle it anymore

Here is my take.
Ariens is for people who hate winter and hate blowing snow but have to do it and just want it over with. It gets the job done.
Honda is for people who enjoy blowing snow and look forward to winter storms and love doing it. It’s an experience.

Both are good blowers The Honda is dependable long range better fuel and with the track system there is no comparison for upgrade challenges

I chose a 24 in Ariens deluxe for 1600 hundred bucks over the honda 24 in. that was over 5000 in Canada. Ariens is easily moved around. I made a deal on the Honda and got a call from the dealer and he wanted 50 bucks more so I told him to shove it and bought the Ariens. Saved 3500 dollars and I love it.

I'm a bit of an Ariens fanboi, but it's hard to beat a Honda. I think the advantage of Ariens, in addition to cost, is they have a wide selection to pick from. I think, on any given year, Honda only makes 5 or so 2 stage models to pick from.

I have one Ariens Platinum SHO 28'' and love it. But to beat a Honda is difficult. I have an Hybrid 1180 at my workplace and this does not stop.

What kills snow blowers is salt corrosion, old gas, and lack of maintenance. Both brands are good machines and can last many decades if well maintained. If a lot of salt and calcium chloride used in your area you will have more bad bearings and rust to fight. In my area, Syracuse, NY, Ariens are plentiful and dealers have parts locally. Never see a Honda snow blower here so no parts locally. I have a Honda walk behind mower that is a fine machine.

I ran an Ariens 824 from 1980 thru 2004 when I traded it for a 9hp 26 DLE that I run today. Both required maintenance major and minor over the years. Any parts I required were available.

It looks like the Ariens is moving at a faster pace than the Honda but the Honda is definitely throwing the snow farther. Pretty cool!
I think I might buy a Rapidtrak Pro 28 and race my neighbors HS928😜

Aliens probably best bang for the buck .Honda best snowblower. Anyone whose had both will agree.

I don't see that much difference. That's a nice amount of snow to work with. In Truckee, we would have storms where we'd blow that much two or three times in a day. I'd do 16" or so at 6:00am before going to work, my wife would blow another foot or more at noon, then I'd get home from work at 6pm and blow another 14-16" before I would pull in the driveway.

Honda snowblowers are by far the preferred brand in this area.

The Honda is a more powerful unit, comparing it to a residential Arien's Deluxe; try it against an Arien's Pro 28 with it's deflector consistently wide open.

November 2023 Canadian 24" Honda $4189, wheeled Ariens 24" deluxe $2050. If money was no a Honda. With money a a lightly used Ariens. Lol. Nice video, thanks.

did you like one better than the other? They both seemed to do the job just fine.

Honda is more than twice the cost of the Ariens, correct?
