I have this switch in my home office. I have my workstation connected at 10Gb, my NAS at 10Gb, and a secondary box at 2.5Gb. I'm using one of the 10Gb ports as my uplink back to my UDM Pro SE (using a copper SFP+ transceiver). I've got 1400/45 cable internet and get full 1400 to my desktop. Oh and you can use the 1Gb port as a regular port as well (not just as uplink).

I bought this one as my first 10 gb switch. 4 ports isn't much but not everything needs 10gb. It's good enough for my 3gb internet, my 10gb nas, my 10gb workstation and a spare 10gbe port for future expandability (maybe a 2.5gb switch with 10gb uplink).

I wish the POE-In port was 10g as well, otherwise it's a handy switch given that it supports 1/2.5/5/10 on the other ports. I use it on my desk to get 10g to my NAS from my workstation.

I cant get the right speeds for some reason. Your ports are green, mine are blue and light blue and not getting what I should be.

I love you Willie! Long time follower.

Damn you ubiquiti. Just damn you.

1. Just (4) ports WTF!?!?!?
2. No 10gb back haul to the gateway
3. No PoE for the (4) ports
4. No SFP in and out.
5. None of that for $300.

Thank you ubiquiti for continuing to charge $65 per transceiver.

Really places this in a weird position. You could get the (8) port 10gb switch aggregation for $280.

8 transceivers from Unifi store will cost you $520. Maybe $360 from second hand markets.

So that’s at minimum $650 to get the USW-Aggregation up and running on ethernet

Could buy two of the USW-Flex-XG for that.

Terrible scheme for the consumer they have going here for entry to 10gb.

Last month I needed to add a couple of devices where my Internet comes into the house (outside my home-lab), so I brought one of these....

I should state I got a couple of different Unifi 10GbE switches (the US-16-XG, USW-Pro) and all work great, but I seriously regret buying the US-Flex, I've had endless issues with it. First off, it brought down my whole home network whilst I was on holiday, by somehow dropping of the network and losing it whole configuration... and since then I've had a constant battle of it showing offline in the Unifi Console..

So if I have my NAS and PC on this switch, will I get 10GBe transfer rates even through my router is 1GBe?

Is it possible to use one of the 10 GbE ports for a 10 GbE uplink?

I am also curious if the ports will work with 2.5gb and 5gb connections.

Why is this more money than the 8 port 10gb USW-Aggregation?

Once again, Unifi fumbles the ball on the 2 yard line. Why hobble this switch with a last-century, 1Gb uplink? Would it kill them to make this at least a 2.5Gb port or (gulp) a 10Gb SFP+ port? As is, I fail to see the use case. Yes, maybe it can plug into a 1Gb port on an older gateway while running a local NAS. But as 3 and 5 Gb internet connections are becoming more available, this design seems doomed to be short lived.

The more hookups I see the more I just don't like the two part power adapters

It's $300 a piece. This switch is only for those with serious need for network transfer speeds.

Hey! My pet turtles love that opaque plastic wrap! Don't be putting ideas in manufacturers' heads.
