In reading and listening to videos about reforesting efforts, one major problem has become using only one or two kinds of trees. Monoculture planting has many flaws. It doesn't attract a variety of wildlife, and when highly flammable trees are used, such as fir, spruce, pine and other evergreens, whole replanted forests can be wiped out in days. Interspersing plantings with a variety of trees helps provide a fire block and slows down the fire spread.
