Hue, value, saturation...makes sense. I am glad it took you a while to fine the right color because it showed me that it is a process that you sometimes have to work with for a while to figure out. It does seem like a hard and long process but that's because I want instant gratification, when really the whole process was very fun. You also found several colors that matched the other part of that leaf.
Thank you. I am going to do some practice with this leaf picture and see if I can find the exact hues and saturation on that leaf. Thank you again. You are a really good teacher.

I’ve just spent the whole day trying to mix a similar colour to that gold tan in the leaf. Feels like I’ve been wrestling a pig. The pig won and I’ve just realised that violet might hold the key.
Tomorrow is another day.

yall wanna hear something funny!! when I first started watching these painting videos, I thought plain aire was a place!! I kept seeing on the video heading in plain air. I kept thinking to my self, I'm going to have to there.. must be a very scenic place!! lol!! yes! i have my moments!! lol.. at least i can laugh at myself!!
