John Carroll Lynch Speaks On The Film, 'Lucky'

"Lucky" follows the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old atheist and the quirky characters that inhabit his off the map desert town. Having out lived and out smoked all of his contemporaries, the fiercely independent Lucky finds himself at the precipice of life, thrust into a journey of self-exploration, leading towards that which is so often unattainable: enlightenment. Acclaimed character actor John Carroll Lynch's directorial debut is at once a love letter to the life and career of Harry Dean Stanton as well as a meditation on morality, loneliness, spirituality and human connection.

"Lucky" is a beautiful movie, LOVED it! I'm a huge fan of Harry Dean Stanton and David Lynch. There's not a movie Harry was in, or a movie David directed, that I didn't like. So to see them act together in Lucky was awesome.

Seeing this wonderful director only in thrillers as an actor I was blown away on how he directed " Lucky " and what a thought- provoking movie it was

Absolutely loved this movie! Hearing Harry Dean Stanton sing one of Mexico's most beloved songs, in Spanish, was so very moving. Rest in Peace, Mr. Stanton.

I never heard of HDS before LUCKY, and now he's my mentor at 70 years old, thanks Mr. Lynch ! I got at old cowboy hat and walked down the Piru sidewalk in front of the old building as my wife took a picture, I can enjoy my cigarettes now without everyone telling me to quit ! Good job on this movie, Rick A Daly

What a wonderful movie! I'm watching it in segments so I can ride my exercycle and not get bored. I'm about an hour in and I am totally unfamiliar with Harry Dean Stanton. What a terrific character actor he is. I will look for more of his films. There is some beautiful dialog.

A; Being a Good Host; B: The Equation ; C: The Plan, Parts and Pace. ( precious gem: I love Stanton's "take it easy, then rest. ")

Great movie, the AMERICANS are getting old
and they lack human warmth and the joy of other places ... in the last scene the turtle Roosvelt was lost behind a huge wall they were building to isolate the south.

This film was RANCID. It was so obviously made by a rich kid who got his chance by being born on the inside. He wasted the brilliance of Harry Dean Stanton with this SHIT script. Helpless, insipid, pretentious. To make things worse, he used one of the most amazing Johnny Cash songs ever to make his point. Which wasn't a point. It was all pretence. Blech.
