I love how this series portrays Jack’s struggle with his anger.
How he gets so enveloped in his rage that he can no longer tell himself apart from his dark side.
This series was a true gem.

The fact that they had to censor "kill" with "destroy" tells a lot about this episode haha. They had to toned it down a bit cause a majority of it's viewers were children and young teens. I used to watch the original air of this legendary cartoon (on Cartoon Network) back in the day when I was about 11 or 12 yrs old, yeeah fun times.

will always remember watching this as a kid, the bright reds and soft drones makes for such an intense experience. along will all of the screaming and scrunched faces. phew, amazing show!

Little things like this are why i love the creator. Mad Jack starts in the most aggressive stance, Jack has his sword down and away/medium. The second that second cut hits him. He adopts the same aggressive stance. Once mad Jack's hair tie is cut, that's it. They both stay in high aggression mode and there's basically no blocking anymore, they are only parrying each other's kill strikes.

I like how around 2:40, stylistically, Jack and Mad Jack are almost completely indistinguishable from one another other than their screams if you listen close enough. It just hammers home the fact that though Mad Jack was manifested through Aku's magic, he is not behaving the way he does because of Aku. They both have their source in Jack's rage. It's only when Jack chooses to let go of his anger that the scene goes back to showing each of them as visually distinctive from one another.
