Gaokao is a University entrance exam. In high school whatever stream you choose, the exam would be based on that. Example - Physics, Maths, Chemistry, History, Geography, Chinese, etc. The more marks you get the better universities would approach you. When you get the certificate of the best universities, best jobs in that major in the universities which you took would approach you with high salaries. In short Gaokao is to have a secure life ahead.

It is the same view when we pass AIJEE and NEET exam before entering an engineering college or medical College. I can feel the emotion. I remember the day when the most awaited 12th board exam result was announced because it was our 1st and last board exam . It will help to decide that we can get entry to a top college or not.
