Lol, that's what happens to me. I'll be singing falsetto parts fine at home, but then on a gig...

takes quite a bit of control, and almost near perfect breathing and good ears to not sound like too mickey mousey and also not super airy and actually on pitch. obviously depending on the song that might be what you're trying to achieve, but controlling it takes good breathing technique. without it, good luck

I cant find a video if you have one out, but can low testosterone in men have an affect on our vocal cords?
I used to sing more free.. more higher notes without straining... My vocal cords feel tightened when I sing too high of notes to where I am starting to strain a little so I have to bring tone back down so I don't hurt myself.
As of lately I found out my testosterone was very very low....so now I'm wondering if that has anything to do with me not being able to hit notes like I used to more freely without straining? 😅 I know it sounds kinda silly but I'm just trying to figure out what happened. No exercises are helping me get more "loose" or free from that tightness. Its getting frustrating to where I throw in the towel about 5x a week lol.

That's because these singers you've met don't sing Muse, Radiohead and Mars Volta hahaha
:)

I find many falsettos not that hard after a lot of training. But (1) because they are not easy, and (2) because I feel too vulnerable and shy, I tend to be bad at doing falsettos in public, but I'm good when I'm at home.
However, let me sing those lower notes from Muse, for example, like Dead Inside or Madness, and I can do it with more easy in public, since I don't feel too ashamed and worried that it will fail.
