Hi guys, I am not an installer but really like Sal’s videos. Can some describe why this will fail and over heat please? I can see that the tile only appears to have “blobs” of thinset down rather than completely covering the substrate. Trying to learn more before having someone work in my own home.

What do you mean man, you know these contractors are just all about speed speed speed get it done get it done get it done there's no such thing as good and fast. That happens way more than anybody could ever imagine like 75% of tile jobs are basically crap but the problem is people can't see through the tile so when it's done it looks great until something happens and then you got a tear the whole floor up and start all over, when you should have just hired a real professional in the first place to do it correctly and then you wouldn't have a problem🤣👍🤪. These are the types of guys that throw down 300 square feet in a day that don't know how to clean the substrate, don't key in the substrate, don't directional trowel, don't back butter, all they care about is getting the square footage price that their boss and them talked about and getting it done and grouted before anybody finds out there's a problem.
