WW1 was the "great" war my man. You don't think they called it "world war 1" do you? That would be pretty bleak after all. They may not have seen it as the first world war anyway. 1812 was pretty full-on, covered a lot of the planet, and while it wasn't as much of the planet as WW1, WW2 didn't cover as much of the planet as 1 did either.
