1. an exercise schedule you hate
2. a goal to get healthier without any specific metrics involved
3. going cold turkey on any food category
4. cutting out all extra spending
5. saving a high dollar amount on a low income
6. the same resolutions you didn't follow through on last year

My financial resolutions:
1. If there is something I want, I will write it down on a list and come back sometime later to see if I still want it
2. Instead of cutting clothes shopping cold turkey, I’m allotting myself 1-2 purchases per season
3. Increase the amount in my emergency fund and revisit the goal in June

I like calling it goal setting vs a New Years resolution. And I don't write anything down unless I am 100% committed to following through.

I've been setting micro-resolutions for the past two years and have seen better than normal results! I'm only setting new habits that last for one month and if at the end of the month I see a positive change or I can realistically stick to the behavior (building or breaking a habit), I'll continue that habit as I add the next one. Great video, TFD!

For anyone wanting to make more money and thinking I cant leave my job nobody would hire me: Spend an afternoon looking at job post salaries you want, see what skills are they demanding and study that for 2 months to then go after those kinds of jobs, dont be intimidated by age or gender, you can learn something new everyday and you can get a better job, Good Luck!!

A food resolution that has/does work for me is no added sugar in food that a) isn't dessert or b) isn't made by me! It doesn't prohibit added sugar but encourages making food by myself and enjoying sugar in the places its meant to be in :)

I started exercising in 2020, and actually stuck with it, even though I hate exercising. I started off just walking my dog 30 min, and Now I am biking for an hour and weight lifting. It really is slow and steady wins the race. I also, watch my favorite shows and content creators while biking. I save episodes I'm really excited about till my exercise time. That way I combine something I love, with something I dislike doing.

I'll never get a gym membership again! Last year I started walking. When it started to get pretty uncomfortably cold here, I got a fold up stationary bike for $150. Seriously, best investment. Find what you love and do that ❤️

Much needed reminders! I feel like people have this great expectation that this entire situation will just magically dissolve at some point this year. It definitely won't. It's going to be a slow and awkward grind, and we'll adapt to it.

My resolutions included eating more intuitively and quitting social media for January. I'm currently social media free and my intuitive eating journey is at a point where I'm doing pretty well at gentle nutrition and honoring my fullness.
My girlfriend opted to drink more bubbly because she liked it better than wine, oddly enough that is the one that fell through.

Uhhh I don't think I agree with "if you didn't get into a hobby/fitness goal/skill this year when you had nothing but time, you're not gonna do it."

High stress isn't really productive to being innovative or wanting to take challenges. It was a year of a pandemic and of politicial turmoil. Not to mention facilities you might have utilized to learn a skill or hobby might have closed down. (What are all my aspiring rock climbers suppose to use in Miami if the gyms are closed? They gonna scale buildings?)

Like. People, be kind to yourself. And if you couldn't get into something last year there's no reason you won't be able to this year.

My New Year resolutions are: stop working out. Gain weight. Make less money this year than I did last year. I figured why not considering I always break them.

My New Years resolution for 2020 was to manage my illness anxiety disorder (aka hypochondria)... soooo it's safe to say that didn't happen. On the bright side, I did break the habit of constantly asking for reassurance from doctors.

This year I decided to set some small goals, in the sense that they’re on a monthly or quarterly time frame. I don’t think planning for a whole year is feasible for me, it just feels overwhelming. That said, the smaller goals I set can add up if i make related “resolutions” at the set interval.

love to see you! i'm in a group chat with close friends and their starting a intense workout routine AND two of them are going on a diet together!! Its way early but I totally admire them there keeping themselves accountable to each other well! I already decided to do the 52 week savings challenge this year but I might also try to set up a stretching' routine thanks to there influence.
