Had exact thing happen to me. Pt came in to clinic in morning. ER couldnt remove it the night before and sent them home! It was a steel ring! We did everything we could in office. I had to send them to larger city ER in our system and they somehow cut it off. (Also, rings to crush are Tungsten. My wedding ring is one. Easier to crush than cut)
