In this week’s Breaking Analysis, Dave Vellante, chief analyst at theCUBE Research, is joined by Rob Strechay, managing director and principal analyst at theCUBE Research, as they discuss VMware’s acquisition by Broadcom. Eight months after Broadcom's acquisition of VMware, customers and partners are rapidly adjusting to the company's swift changes in VMware's packaging, pricing and partnership programs.

While large VMware customers are advised to carefully plan around their Enterprise License Agreement expiration, smaller customers are encouraged to either transition to alternative platforms or seek immediate support from managed service providers.

Broadcom's aggressive strategy has led to significant cost-cutting, a narrowed product focus and a push toward higher margins, prompting many customers to explore alternatives such as Nutanix and cloud-based solutions. This market shift is evident in spending patterns, indicating a growing momentum away from VMware.

Be sure to follow Dave's weekly Breaking Analysis podcast as well, for the deep data dives on enterprise computing trends, from spending patterns to Wall Street implications.
