To those of you that don't know how to make the curve actually appear, make a line near the top of your code that's something like
@export var curve = Curve (The capitalization is important)
The inspector on the right will have a spot for a Curve that says Empty. Just click that drop down and click New Curve.

I appreciate that this video is short, thank you for bringing to my attention that curves exist.

Got me thinking outside the box about what else could be curves. Please make more videos if you can/want to, this was very inspiring

This is exactly what I needed for my camera movement, trying to do something like the camera in the game oddsparks, where you can zoom in and out and it goes in on a curved line. I only wish you added how to make these graphs in godot, now I gotta go search how to do that lol.

This is such a wonderful tool for a dev! I was thinking of doing a fighting game prototype next, and having curves to make like fireballs that are stronger upclose or stronger after they've traveled for a while sounds awesome!

Fast-paced wonderful tip, expecting longer version with creating curve+ binding in codepanel

Fantastic video; succinct, informative, and contains extremely useful information.
I'm a professional game developer and use this technique both in my personal Godot projects and in my professional work.

I've seen this concept similarly applied to 3D model animation smoothing. There was a developer for the game Overgrowth (though not on godot) who demonstrated this technique. It was really interesting. But I have just started tinkering with godot 2d programming and this toolset for animations and keyframes have definitely made programming a much easier experience.

I wish the UI to edit curves was even remotely usable in godot. It's tiny and limited, personally I find it to be borderline unusable. Anyways, great video, you've showcased their power really well!

That's actually pretty interesting, might make it easier to compare damage as level increases vs hp increases as level increases, for instance.

Superb! Also easier for artists to tweak behaviour in-engine

Man it feels like this video is addressed to me. I always spend hours in desmos tryna find the mathematic function that produces the kind of graph I want. And it's not like I didn't know curves existed I do but for some reason most of the time I do it in code.

cool video! your scrolling background is a bit too fast imo, but good video :)

Really nice explainer video, only complaint is that the music is kinda distracting

Thanks, I just forgot about my powerful weapon, the curve.
