The red cord is just to pull the flaps together on the MS10. the bigger multi seat life rafts have slave gases systems to inflate. CO2 is a lazy liquid even cold. It needs a kick up the arse with nitrogen. When gas charging the bottles there is a tier weight and full weight then you have to do the sums for the CO2 and nitrogen percentage.
