Love where these videos are going. So many of us skipped the basic stuff and later get stuck because of not having a foundation.

Thanks Marty, the lights just went on. I am 70 this month, just started playing again after 40 some years and you have made my day !

I've been watching Marty since I was 12 years old and I'm 27 now. 15 years of playing! It's amazing how our mind and muscle memory progress. When first starting I avoided the C chord like the plague and now it's probably one of the most used and easiest chords to transition to and between! Blows my mind to even think there was ever a point that I did struggle with that chord. So to anyone here that is brand new to guitar all I can say Is keep going and the struggle will become nothing but a silly memory of the past!

I decided to pick up my guitar during this stay home order. I've practiced more in the last 7 days than I have in the last 10 years, and with your videos I'm enjoying it so much more than I used to. (Despite the pain that came with building up callouses on my fingertips)
Thanks for all the great videos. You have a new subscriber here.

God damn. I've been playing for about 2 years now and this made it so me and my friend could start jamming together in the blink of an eye without just "echoing the same thing". Thanks alot :D

Marty you are the best teacher I have ever seen. You have taught me how to play guitar in less than a year. I now know how to write my own songs and have learned a lot of the tunes I’ve wanted to play. I feel like I owe you money because honestly I could not have learned from anyone better. I wish you the best of luck. Thank you for everything you do.

So freakin good!
It’s a bit overwhelming as I’m just getting started (3rd week in)
Don’t have an acoustic yet so learning on electric. Also, staring a bit late in life; I’m 70
Can’t wait to learn. Thank you for teaching us!

In less than a year I was able to get myself an electric guitar and I’m working on writing my own songs and playing music I never thought I could and I owe it all to you, thank you and I wish you the best

I decided to learn guitar after "Teen Spirit" came out in 1991 or so. Their are many more resources now! So much easier for new students.

You rule, man. I bought a guitar about 2 years ago and you have taught and helped me so much in learning to play. It is now one of my go to ways to de-stress and calm myself down. Thank you so much for all you do.

My father actually told me exactly this on the first day I started playing the guitar

Marty that whole concept has been something that has been driving me nuts. Always trying to understand how players move their fingers up and down the fretboard and are playing another cord.

Thank you so much

Marty is the man who knows what he's been missing
Many, many men can't see the open chord ....

I don't think anyone can find a better guitar teacher in person or on YouTube. It doesn't matter if you've never picked up a guitar before or if you've been playing for years... Marty just has a way of teaching that makes it easy and fun to learn guitar. Keep it up Marty!
