I love how Missi and Duke are wearing each other's colors and patterns--Duke wearing purple with a mesh sash around his top hat, and Missi wearing red with a classical floral pattern on her dress. Seems like they're more of a couple now for sure.

Also I need more emo teen Duke in my life. Emo man runs away bc he's different, finds bloodthirsty vampires that vibe with everything he loves, and fully embraces the vampire life because FINALLY, somewhere others are like him! Except one particular vampire seems miffed at how much Duke is enjoying himself and stealing his thunder..

I like Duke's little grin he gives Missi when she goes shadow gremlin mode when he touches the staff while trying to help her up after her less than graceful landing. He's amused rather than annoyed. They really have come a long way from trying to maim and kill each other. Also it's really adorable that she trusts him enough to sleep by his side even though it makes her very vulnerable. Also that possessive little hip grab at the end gave me diabetes. Can't wait to see where the story takes these two.

I love how the Duke's backstory wasnt what everyone expected to be. I also thought he was an old vampire from the 18th century but turns out, he was simply an emo goth in the modern day. I also love how he turned was nothing dramatic like he made a deal with the devil or anything like that, he just stumbled into the wrong place at the "wrong" time. 🤣

Duke’s sire being 110% done with his shit is hilarious. Though learning duke is so ‘young’ is definitely a surprise. Their actions through the series made me assume they had at least a century or two on them for their human lifespan to degrade and seem less morally relevant

Everyone else excited for the two of them to grow closer together and develop; I'm just really happy to see that the wounds they inflicted on each other are still there, and consistent across the entire animation.

This really adds a whole new light to Missi and Duke’s relationship! They were basically the same, kindred spirits who felt like outcasts in society. Now they’re living their aristocratic vampire fantasy together. It’s nice to see them together and happy.

Not only was this a great way to explain Duke's backstory, it's also a great way to show how his and Missi's relationship has improved.

Wow. To be honest, I'm shocked that Duke was a simple guy who was fond of rock (?) and gothic. Before this series, I thought that he was turned into a vampire somewhere in the 16-18 century and was an earl or duke, but the fact that Duke was a simple guy surprised me a lot, and even pleasantly surprised. This surprise was also due to the fact that Duke has a rather aristocratic manner and the fact that he lives in an old castle. Summing up, I am very pleasantly surprised and look forward to continuing. Excellent work, story and animation as always at the highest level.

I love that Duke let Missy keep his old scepter and even gave her his brooch and got himself a new one. Hell, he even got a new shirt, hat, and scepter. And they both are wearing each other's signature colors.

So Duke wasn't an ancient vampire, he just dresses like that because he's a edgy fashion major? And that he was thrilled to have found and be turned into a vampire (it wasn't because of the cane like Missi!)? He got another cane that's is so cute? Their bat forms? I'm in love with this episode, honestly
Also, of course, we have the background tidbits amoung the fantastic animation! It seems like he was friends with the jock we see in the middle (I think that note near the picture was written by him as well). I wonder what happended to them.

Ok some things which others in the comments have probably already pointed out.
1. Duke can't be that old of a vampire based of the aesthetic when he was human.
2. Duke and Missi are wearing each other's colours.
3. Missi HAS DUKE'S KEY
4. The vampires Duke stumbles upon appear to be looking for said key
5. Duke is Duke's real first name
6. Duke and the ringleader of the group who was threatening him through the window seem to have once been friends
7. Duke appears to have been involved in designing clothes before his runaway.
8. The two of them actually have to go to town normally.
9. Vampires in this universe can actually turn into bats.
10. Duke and Missi seem to have continued their actually getting along with each other from the end of Stuck With You.

Honestly this makes the relationship between Duke and Missi make so much more sense somehow. They’re just an emo guy and a Twi-hard who are living out their vampire fantasy lives irl together. Sort of makes me wonder if maybe that’s why Duke took interest in her in the first episode to begin with, because he saw her as a potential kindred spirit.

Fun Fact: based on the time period Duke was turned he would likely be a 12th or 13th generation vampire (according to the Vampire: the masquerade lore) meaning that according to that world's lore he's probably not respected at all within vampire society. the only reason he is, is simply due to how charismatic he is. as we see in the concert scene (which also shows his sire being all grumpy... possibly hinting that the higher ups still don't like him or take him seriously). also possibly the fact he was fabulously wealthy even before the transformation
