bro i never noticed how legit insane missy is. everyone be saying she's insane but i don't think anyone's mentioned the fact that she is seeing things the whole time, i mean like nobody's mentioned how when she thought the chandelier fell when it didn't and she saw a picture of duke when it wasn't duke. i only noticed this now lmao

Missi sings in so many different voices, but somehow, every single one of them fit her perfectly

It’s interesting how the mirror proves she’s not a true vampire by showing her brown hair (true self) in the reflection

The fact that she could’ve had a chance at a normal life but chose otherwise just lets us understand her and her story so much more.

Missi is going nuts but her hate for Duke just keeps pulling her back in... That's honestly a scary thought...

3:15 She got an A in Literature but an F in Geography. Explains how she got so bloody lost in the first place.

Now that I've rewatched this a good hundred times, I've come to realize that Missi's reflection is shown at 1:51, further showing how she isn't a true vampire and that the cane's effecting her because of that. She has hallucinations at many intervals like when she thinks the chandelier falls, and seems to have some sort of protective behaviors over the cane, bringing it to bed with her.

This whole this is just a fight for survival. Also relates

0:00 teetering on the edge
0:56 the first break
1:10 avoiding sleep for fear of her mind overtaking her
1:14 projecting anger at situation towards enemy
1:17 attempting to relax
1:22 her mind/ the cane overtaking her thoughts. Fear
1:26 slipping slipping slipping into insanity
1:29 recognition
1:32 rejecting the insanity. Forcing reality by sheer will.
1:41 paranoia
1:45 putting that wall of showing maliciousness over fear.
1:51 the wall is starting to crack her from inside.
1:53 spiraling spiraling paranoia curtained by confidence
2:05 the paranoia is winning
2:08 panic. Panic.
2:19 rejection of the source
2:26 reflection
2:42 accepting the rejection and the loss that comes with it.
3:09 anger at enemy overpowers the downsides of this power
3:11 rebound.
3:14 rejection of past self

It's tragic, really. She gave up any chance at returning to her normal life out of a desire to punish Duke. Vengeance prevents her from really being happy.

someone probably already said this but the reason the cane is driving her so crazy is because she's not actually meant to be a vampire... duke was fine with it because he IS actually a vampire

What I really like is when she's holding the cane, the background is just completely black and white. When she becomes a human again, the world is back into color.

Ok so I just noticed something, in "fuck you" Missi's shadow version was a separate entity that she sent after Duke (most likely the entity came from the cane and returned to it), but here we can see it is trying to take over her or at least become a permanent part of Missi, trying to no longer be a separate entity. And as seen here that entity is now a part of Missi as she couldn't overcome her hatred for Duke and it the entity festered on this notion and so Missi embraced it (as seen in the end). Edit this might be common knowledge but my delayed ass only saw this now lol.

As much as I agree that Duke has a lot of fault here, I think this episode made me realize that Missi is really messed up to begin with as well. The power of the cane scared her, but she STILL preferred to endure horrifying hallucinations, throw out her entire future (hence her college application that flew out of her bag) and continue to let her family (the people that actually matter in her life-listed in a paper of emergency contacts that also flew out
of her bag) worry to death about her...just to continue tormenting Duke. The cane isn’t controlling her, it just brings out what’s already there. Up to this point, she killed him, she brought him back to life, she tortured and beat his ass, humiliated him and violently threw him out of his own house.
I think the scariest thing here isn’t the power of the cane, it’s her own capacity to hate so deeply. I think that’s the “Silent” monster inside her that’s literally “eating her inside out” and that’s how she chose to live her life.

Poor Missi. She doesn't realize the price for her vengeance is her sanity.

The fact she gave up her chance to be normal again probably says a lot about how "good" her home life was and how much control the staff has over her emotions

"It wouldn't be so bad, except I never gave permission." I think that's the most telling phrase in this animation, at least in terms of what's going inside her head, particularly in terms of how she feels about the Duke.

Missi: Losing her damn mind

Duke: ZOMBIE TIDDIES

Edit: what the hell is going on why do I it have 12k likes on this comment?

So, Missi is dealing with *Insanity, * and *possibly, schizophrenia*

While Duke is treated like a god, in the underworld and he possibly just *Smashed Missi’s missing sister*

*Damn, the perfect revenge*

The more i rewatch the series the more i feel this episode is where missy began to sympathize with duke, or at least understand him a bit. The power and corruption of that staff combined with the isolation in the castle.
