Hi, your rear gate is not working properly, it is look like that bottom part is not properly adjusted or tie rods are overstretched because many heavy people very often siting on it. Then bottom part need more time to lift and sensor on top gate sensing obstacle so gate will stop to continue to closing and avoid to crash to bottom gate in inappropriate ankle.
This is common problem with all L405 heavy person sitting or bumping on it very often.

Whilst Land Rover doesnt have the best reliability record, I suspect that isn't helped by the balance of sales. Mercedes S Class and BMWs 7 Series are almost certainly no more reliable but they are supported by a huge number of cheaper, less complex cars which are relatively reliable. A Range Rover is a big complex machine with lots that can go wrong. To run one you need the money to buy a good one on the used market and then the money to be able to maintain it properly. You can't run them on the cheap.
