That main canopy is obviously too big for that container. If you pause and go frame by frame, you can see that it doesn't even fit into the D-bag. No wonder is was so tight.

looks like he had to yank pretty hard to get the bag out.

I'm still doing my AFF atm. Honestly, I don't wanna see instructors breaking off too early just in case there's a mal

If instructors broke off too early he'd for sure have to do emergency procedures.

This happened on my second AFF jump too. Had an old pilot chute that wasn’t catching enough air (at least that’s what we think happened) I have the video if y’all would like it?

Would seem sensible to glance over your shoulder at the deploying pilot to ensure the d bag comes out. Wiggle the bridle if not. I think the deployment altitudes are too low for safety should be no lower than 5k. I know my main burnt 1000 foot in deploying. Thats 4k, lets say theres a hesitation thats another 1k and if you have line twists or are bein spun around you can burn another 1k on cutting away.

Is that container too small or somethin?

Makes me wonder where you draw the line, and wait to see if the student pulls handles. Also makes me wonder if the bridle got caught up or pinched somewhere? I'm a new A- licensee and am being reeeal careful about bridle routing.
