Here is the best and simplest reason to never rush commitment (and never be the one to pursue it):

You will have a shitty and short-lived relationship. You give up ALL of your bargaining power by giving her the ultimate prize for free. She now has nothing to work for, nothing to compete for. You think you are being romantic and bold, and she may like the IDEA of you offering commitment, but what her subconscious hears is:

"Please take off your make up, put on your sweat pants, and start denying me sex, because that's all I deserve".

She should be on her knees, bringing you gifts, and trying to outbid the competition with her submissive femininity. She should ALWAYS be the one pushing for it, and trying to prove that she's worth the investment. If she can do this consistently for 3-6 months, then you can consider it.
