Professional Boat Detailing by The Yacht Lab
In this video, we complete a 2x2 test spot as part of our restoration service on a 25-foot Grady White that has been unprotected outside for two years. The oxidized and chalky hull requires a multi-step process, from heavy cutting to polishing and finishing. Our usual recommendation to a client for this type of job would be to add some sanding steps. However, that isn't in their budget so we are offering the next best solution. Follow along as we demonstrate our detailed approach to boat restoration.

Steps in This Detailing Process:

- 00:00 - 00:45 Introduction
- 00:46 - 02:00 Heavy cut using a DeWalt rotary machine with a white wool pad and Starke Level R
- 02:00 - 04:20 A second heavy cut to maximize correction
- 04:21 - 05:05 Refinement with a yellow wool pad and Starke Elevate
- 05:06 - 06:30 Polishing with a Maxshine DA and an orange Lake Country HDO pad, paired with Starke Finish R
- 06:31 - 07:15 Final protection with Starke Triple P for long-lasting gloss and durability
