As much as I think this EV tech is nice, it's pricing is still far outside the range of the average middle incomed individual. Lithium prices have dropped quite a bit year over year, so the need to charge as much as battery makers do is a bit of price gouging. I understand they need more investment money to develop newer, longer lasting and more powerful batteries. But we are having to fork out a ton of money for products that cost half as much to make than just a few years ago. Like big oil, we are seeing greed in EV development outpace consumers financial capabilities. If oil prices would drop, lithium battery prices would too as manufacturers know with cheaper fuel, the desire to convert to EV technology will decline.
