Less than 40 pounds isn’t legal in most states I hunt

With all due respect, you may want to remove the log from your own eye before you remove the spec from your neighbor’s eye. Slightly raising the bow so that both lats work together is proper form. I can straight pull my 70 pound Triax and 75 pound V3 31 while sitting flat on the ground.. But it’s not the most efficient way to draw.

Great advice, but by the way, you have target panic when you pull the trigger and grab the bow at the same time you need to pull through the trigger smoothly and slowly make it a surprise shot that makes you a better archer

Sir I love that you said you got a new subscriber today I make my own bows have now for over a year blow up more bows then I can count and I have had the hardest time on this Feild with ppl who think they know what a bow is or even what it should do or how it’s made thanks for the information and the fact that it is good !

I shot 35lbs recurve for years and also hunt with a 60lb hoyt and shot many draw weights in between and the think I learn the most is build a good heavy arrows 500 grains or more with a good sharp broadhead and you’ll see a light bow blow threw like it’s nothing the archer and arrow make the bow

More draw strength = flatter arrow though.

You were death gripping the bow on the draw (Potential Derail)
You drew across body not using propper muscles (Potential Injury)
Your hand position is bad (Torque Inducing)
You hopped on that triggers a55 & ran it over (Pull through to activate)

40lb can kill a deer but you're a man hit the fkin GYM!

Im a smaller hunter i bought a youth model bear apprentice 3 for versatility in all types of blinds..i have it maxed at the 60lb draw..with dual cams i can draw it back with 2 fingers, i shoot for about an hour in my backyard range and not get fatigue..i didnt need anything fancy to get me into archery hunting i just wanted somthing that worked..and its gotten deer each season..you dont need tons of power for deer i feel 45-47 is sufficient at 25 yards..i dont shoot past 50 yards in backyard ..i dont think il ever even have to take a shot at that distance out in the field..

Until you hit something hard and tough. Pull what you can pull, but kinetic ft/lbs matters.! The more you practice, the more you’ll be able to handle. 40-50 lbs is a very low end area. Yes
“put the arrow there”.. It all matters.

Speed is most DEFINITELY a huge factor. Deer have 4-5x the visual processing speed as a human and have been proven to see and track arrows in flight. That's why deer can "jump" and arrow. Never seen one jump a

Nah. How about pull the bow with correct form to not damage rotator cuff. No matter the weight pull like this if you want bad shoulders

Death grip intense face pressure and trigger punching and is trying to tell people how to shoot a bow! But yes if you can’t pull straight back you are pulling to much but it is easier to pull up and back.

Couldn't agree more. People kill deer with 40lb longbows every year, flinging arrows at less thn 160 fps. A 40 lb compound is certanly enough and pulling 70 lbs on a sunny day is nothing like being all bundled up in 0 degree weather. Slow hits far better than a fast miss.

To me the arrow speed is one thing I could never even consider for one second giving up, shrinking pin gaps and only allowing the deer minimal time to react is far too important to me to be lowering draw weight. With that being said I shoot 70 pounds and have no issues whatsoever.

I will start listening to these people and believing them when they fix the hundreds of things that they did and said where wrong. I’m a 16 year old professional archer and now hunter. I’m on multiple teams and have won multiple awards and can strongly say that these people have been doing archery for a good chunk of time but still are not good enough to be teaching people.

So how do you know when you've reached a point where if you let off more weight your bow snaps in jalf

Avid viewer and now I question both your knowledge and previous content. Elevating to draw is not on its own “bad”There are definitely those who sky draw and struggle to pull back, it’s a rule at our local shop to avoid misfires that could potentially shoot roof or walls. File this one under “crap”

I cringe every time I see someone doing the sky draw. What happens when you’re at 45 degrees and you accidentally punch your release?

I’m I’m sorry but as a bow hunter in most all of the states under 40 pounds of draw weight is illegal
