I don’t know about you but, songs like this can completely take you back to another time. I mean you’re 34 now and you haven’t really done anything with yourself. This song hits you at a work Christmas party and it takes you immediately back to the summer of 2014, you’re faded/cross faded at a hotel party with the glow of pool lighting with your friends. There a girl/guy/other there. You think to yourself this is it I’mm just going to tell her (this is all hypothetical) she kisses you but the moment is cut short as she says “I have an job lined up and i’m leaving” You try to negotiate some sort of a future but she just says (this is all hypothetical) “chris, you had 4 years to ask me, and you just never did”. And that’s what this song does for me.
