Algebra 1 - Product of 2 Consecutive Even Integers

Let me be your online Algebra Tutor! I only solve problems sent in by subscribers! Algebra 1 Quadratics - Use a quadratic equation to solve for two positive, consecutive, even integers whose product is 624.

Just take square root of 624, then choose the even integers just above and below.

Once you say 24x26=624, the problem is over! There is no need to carry on with the factorisation. Many students would know that 25x25=625, so 24x26=624 is an obvious solution without using algebra.

What if its odd? Just (x+1)? And what if its different, is it like
