in my middle grade story the inciting incident happens early i do give the readers a little time to see what he is going though but with younger readers you can't waste time I'm still on the first draft so when i go back i will have to really scrutinize the start to make sure its enough to keep the reader wanting more

This was fun but not necessarily super helpful advice because people like different things. I agree that the references in ready player one annoyed me when I read it but there's people who really liked that aspect of it. I think it's fun to read harsh reviews but it's not necessarily that revealing for how to write a book well, all it tells you is those readers' preferences

my story actually has two inciting incidents the first one happens to Johnny the second is Johnny to the person that finds him in the woods
i can't say more or i will give away the story

I thought it was just me that did this. I enjoyed the content of this vidio. I suggest you work on making your filming smoother, less jarring, so as not to distract.

your addicted to negative reviews say no more. this video was one star, too much negativity, too much cringe. not enough specific examples. not enough funny reviews. but actually this was helpful and entertaining thank you, for reading through the reviews so i don't have too.

yes to much lingo do bother me i have seen to many kids movies with this problem all they do is talk in lingo almost in what fantasy calls jargon meaning words only a few people know and and annoying but i don't mined if they sometime listen to a popular song on comment on a movie they like just don't over do it
