My #1 favourite quote of all time:
*"Last time I recall, I was using my mind, my mind was not using me! Our mind is a tool, use it, don't let it use you."*

You read 50 philosophy books but came out with a short series of self-help platitudes. Well done.

Why read 50 philosophy books when you can just watch a short video about a guy talk about what he learned from them 😅

Philosophy is a conversation through history. It’s a story about us and our world. Read philosophy as a social history and you see how thinkers are responding to the issues they saw around them. Our ideas connect to the consensus we form and shows how and why we got where we did.

One thing I try to remember is that everyone can teach you something. One quote that has stuck with me is, "Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools speak because they have to say something." It has helped me be more tactful and intricate with my words so I can express my ideas and be able to listen before I speak.

My first philosophy book has been Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky, which I've thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait to read Beyond Good and Evil by Nietzsche. I try to see the bigger picture in life and not stress over the little things. And, I also wish to soak up as much knowledge as I can, I want to keep learning throughout my life and want to learn from everyone I can and be able to just appreciate life.

Do you have a list of the 50 books? You mentioned Meditations and Tao, and I didn't seem to hear any ideas that didn't come from those two. The photo-shopped stack in the thumbnail isn't helping my suspicion either

I recommend the book The Psychology of C. G. Jung by Jolande Jacobi to everyone. It's tough to read but mind-blowing.

Yes! One of my all time favorites is also “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. Also, anything Kierkegaard and C.S. Lewis will open your eyes and mind exponentially!

I really enjoy listening to what you have to say and your perspective on things. I, too, am on this path to find lots of meaning in life. I recently read these three books which I liked a lot and have shared them with others. Hopefully, you will be able to relate to some of the content and it just might add a different dimension to your views on this "life" of ours.

1. The Book of Ichigo Ichie: The Art of Making the Most of Every Moment, the Japanese Way

by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles

2. Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles

3. Wabi Sabi: Japanese Wisdom for a Perfectly Imperfect Life by Beth Kempton

Keep up the good work and continue to get the message across to everyone.

So you've only read new age garbage from alan watts who's not a real philosopher, and skimmed the rest to summarise the video?
