In this video, we picked up our JDM Toyota Chaser JZX100 up at True Focus Fabrication where they finished up the intercooler kit installation! We get it back to the shop to figure out the wiring/throttle body issues from going with a jzx100 engine harness vs the jzx100 stuff. We ended up having some bad luck with the stock ecu and had to overnight an EcuMaster EMU Black with a Plug and play adapter to get this thing running properly on a timeline! I cant wait to stick this thing on the dyno and see how much power she makes!

It's def getting to the point where regardless of how "well" an old ECU can work, going standalone makes a lot of sense for a car you've already put a ton of money into. Not only for the additional control and ease of tuning, but for reliability by avoiding old components, and for safety because a modern ECU can actually monitor for issues and prevent damage. Even going from an aftermarket APEXi that was a couple decades old to a Link ECU was a giant leap forward. Plus if you're just starting a project, going standalone means ditching so much extra stuff and avoiding jumping through hoops to make everything OEM happy. Car turned out awesome! Truly sounds incredible.

I have repaired a bunch of my old electronics by simply replacing capacitors! Almost every time it's reason old stuff dies. But I get that one leaked and murdered the PCB.

Funny that you had a 110 motor, idk if it would've worked for you... But... I just watched Jimmy gut the mechanics of a 110 throttle to work manually in a mark ii.

240 might have had one of HKS' very first turbo kits! extremely small production run I believe
