The Lebanese garlic sauce is called toum, its not mayo as there is no egg. It is an emulsion though that is why it is thick. It is just garlic, lemon juice, water salt and vegetable oil. I love this sauce. Cheers I miss eating in Montreal!!

I am really glad to see you ventured outside of the Plateau. Most people visiting Montreal tend to stick to the Plateau and Old Montreal. It’s really nice to see a different perspective. And yes, the food is great in this city.

I used to live in the Saint Henri district for many years. Restaurant Green was within walking distance from where I worked and I often went there for a quick lunch. As you mentioned, their hot dogs are delicious but so are their french fries and their smoked meat sandwiches! Glad you liked it!

Originally from Montreal, now living in the Maritimes.... your video made me very nostalgic and craving some Montreal cuisine. If you ever head back, Montreal's Chinatown and their Hunan dumplings with peanut sauce are a must try! Wish we could find them down east!

So I just got back from Montreal and I have to say the best restaurant I went to with great night time vibes too was called Deville. Order the chicken parm and it was fantastic and the pink colored GTA club lights made for a different vibe.

I am a prince Edward Island relative. It was our summer vacation when I was young. We had a family reunion every year there. We took the ferry and stayed in cabins on a cliff. Lots of fun!

I’m not sure how I came across your channel, but loved this video. I was born and raised in Montreal, so I can attest to how wonderful some of the places you ate at actually are. I loved how you said St Viateur. As an English Montrealler, we said Saint Vee-a-ter, with the emphasis on the a. Personally, I like them better than Fairmont. Next time, you MUST go to Decarie Hotdog for their toastie. You won’t be disappointed. The people who sent you to Lesters know what they’re talking about. I sometimes went there for lunch from my high school. Much better than Schwartz’s. Thanks for taking me down memory lane.

Toum is so delicious on those potatoes 😋 and any grilled vegetables.
Toum is emulsified garlic with oil until creamy..
No mayonnaise added 😌

fun video to watch, thanks. Interesting to find out you get St-Viateur bagels in Halifax, but to me a big part of the bagel is getting them from the store, with the wood burning oven open, the smell, the fogging of the glasses in winter, as well as the challenge of buying a dozen and getting home with more than 9 left. Again great watch.
