We are in the Age of Narcissism. Plain and simple. People have the ability to showcase themselves in a hundred ways, every second of every day. They use their time to do those things today. Less about building relationships, more about getting attention.

It's annoying texting people who you know are glued to their phone but never bother to message you back. So rude.

People have become so lazy they don’t even reply to a text, it’s infuriating, call me petty but I now blank someone if they don’t reply, I’ll take twice as long to reply to them as they did to me.

I don't have a problem with people not reading and not replying but READING and NOT REPLYING is disrespectful. I will always answer right away to not be rude but whenever I text my friends, they just never respond. I know people are not on phones all the time but if you are really busy, just leave the messages alone until you can actually read and reply them.

I just don't get it. Person texts you, then you respond, and they never reply back when they were the ones to initiate the dang conversation in the first place. Almost a year and no reply. This is why I miss the 90's. We could just call someone and have a full conversation right then and there. Then actually meet up with the person. (Not on face time, but face to face) I understand replying late, but not at all? Come on.

I always have to text "friends, " and people in general. I tend to end up feeling undervalued and plain crap from being treated like that by people. I wish I just didn't have to bother with people.

My friends never text me back and it takes them a week to respond. That is downright disrespectful and rude I see that they have read my message but has not responded. While when they text me back, I right away feel like I have to respond to them as soon as possible so they don’t think I’m rude, but I’m done. they text me back a week later I’m not going to respond to their messages anymore at ALL IM DONE.😤

I’ve learned that I’m just not that important to some people. So I stopped texting or talking to them at all. They’re not worth my time.

People are 24/7 on there phone when someone dont reply back they have no true respect for you so you should think about to cut them off

I used be confrontational about this which made me seem needy or controlling but now I delete their phone information from this form of communication... problem solved!!!
best part is later down the line when they text me and I ask who is this please?
then I usually get the chance to explain to them about their lack of respect again problem solved...get it together or keep it moving😂

2 of my friends I text them once in a wile it takes them 2 days to answer or not at all. I work 12 hours a day and always have 1 second to answer them back but now I am done. 👍🏻

It literally takes some of my close friends hours to respond, sometimes even days. I think i need to reconsider my close friends.

I agree with you I have anxity and depression so normally when someone doesnt reply it makes me feel like complete crap because instantly in my mind I'm thinking did I do something wrong and I get sad and depressed I mean yeah I can understand if your working or in college it may take awhile to reply but when all you do is sit at home and play games theres no reason you shouldn't reply how can anyone be so busy that they can't take 5 to 10 seconds to reply back or at least tell you that there busy and thell get back to you later instead of leaveing you in the dark

I noticed if I give people multiple choice question in a text, they respond more quickly. It would be worth getting into/investigating some tips like this one.

Another idea is to text someone a question like can we talk real quickly now OR is later better?

How about texting “I see you must be busy. Would it be easier if I called you?”

Someone make a video like this. It would be helpful.

I can feel your frustration! It sucks to be ignored. The only time I ignore texts is occassionaly, when I’m having family time at night. Or if I’m in middle of a work project sometimes I will not reply. But I don’t make it a habit to ignore people

Unless you study or work in the same place, ignoring texts = End of friendship. Do people fail to understand that relationships require communication? You don't reply to a text, you don't reply to a follow up, do you think the friendship is going to continue? Do you want the other person to "get the hint" or think "Oh, they must be busy. Stop being unreasonable"? No, they can't talk to you again, not even when they "really need something" (Also, wow, when they do text you then, because they KNOW you can't be bothered otherwise, they are only using you), because you're already sending a message. Late replies are better than no replies, idiots.
