Also another point is that she effectively makes at least 30+ champions useless and is the only champion capable of that. So by picking fiora you basically ban half toplaners. Very cool Riot

Hey guys, Sion main here
If fiora likes parrying your Q, remember that you can hold the second stunning part for a whole second while the parry only holds for .75 of a second. As such switch between slamming the axe down immediately and waiting for her to parry early. You'll know you're screwed if the fiora goes without parrying your Q and just dashes out immediately.

There's this one memory burned in my mind about the time I went nasus against fiora in solo q. I was obviously fearing for my life until I beat her a couple of times. Then she spoke in all chat saying how my champ is broken for having high health and vamp for free. I have never laughed so hard in a single game of my life.

My favorite moment of the Fiora mains subreddit was when a top Fiora player did an AMA, and every main in that subreddit was shocked to hear that she was broken. They like to pretend that their champ is purely high risk high reward when in reality, she's low risk, high reward considering her strengths and versatility. When played well you get shat on with little counterplay other than to respect her in lane and still get outscaled anyways. If played poorly, she can choose to play passively with no risk to herself, sidelane all game quite effectively and destroy towers fast with her empowered autos and resets and then still tank your hp once she has 2 items under her belt.

She's not useless when behind, as soon as she gets Divine Sunderer she's ahead, even if you have 2+ items, that's just it, to nerf all the toxic and broken counter pick champs in toplane you just have to remove Divine...

TLDR: designed to have the tools to beat almost any champion in a 1v1, while being tanky and bursting you down from full hp with true damage

I think it's really funny in the K'sante gameplay trailer when Fiora tanks like 8 tower shots, misses half her abilities and STILL almost fucking wins.

I personally think her Q should have like a 12 second CD at max rank but reduce it's cooldown like evolved Kai'sa W if she hits a vital. This allows her to keep her absurd sticking power, but makes it so she doesn't have a massive dash on a 2 second CD making catching her basically impossible.

As a Fiora onetrick I gotta agree on all of your points. I started playing her because the first skin i got was soaring sword fiora and i loved it, didnt know the champ was so good back then.

Fiora is by far my most played champion. With that said, I acknowledge her design is an absolute nightmare. With the exception of bramble+tabi as well as a few horrible matchups, she has more upside than most champions. The reason everyone plays her is simple: If the Fiora plays better (sometimes “better” means perfect), she wins. She is one of the only champions where it isn’t about playing better than her; it’s about hoping she plays worse than you. Her astronomical skill ceiling comes from the very fact that you are at the mercy of whether or not the Fiora you’re up against is better.
I can’t think of any other champs where, at nearly every point in the game, you are at the mercy of how THEY play rather than the street going both ways. That’s the fancy way to say she gets to “remove counterplay” as many people clamor.

Sure, she gets to “remove counterplay” but I wish more people would appreciate how immensely difficult it is to pilot her in a way that is as oppressive as people make her out to be. It’s privilege that needs to be very decisively earned.

With that precision and confidence you have when you talk about game design, you should really make some "How to fix..." videos or something like this where you imagine and give ideas that could improve the game (Even new champion designs why not).

The core issue with fiora is that she is a scissor that only looses when you match it with 2 rocks, but still defeats paper regardless.

I think another important thing is that her scaling is not really conditional. Like if you look at the best scaling toplaners for example, Nasus is useless late game if the enemy has cc and your team doesn't, Kayle scales a lot worse if the enemys outrange her or have a lot of cc. But Fiora doesn't have that which is really unique

I would be fine if her passive either dealt Max HP Physical or just flat True dmg with no Max HP or scaling except levels.
+ She makes half the cast of top useless.

"percent max health true damage obliviously have counters. it can obviously be mitigated by health regen and life steal. I don't care whether that not everyone have access to this but this is a counter to percent max health true damage and that is good enough to be the only counter against an ability that can proc very easily and have no cooldown" modern champion designer from riot
