She reclaims her rightful motherhood.
And, of course, when she repeats the "my daughter, " she is also thinking about Hannah.

5:51-6:35 This hit as a fourth wall break for me. Margaret Atwood once said she doesn’t write anything that hasn’t happened in some capacity in the world. June is but one fictional woman whose story mirrors that of every real person who has been brutalized, raped, tortured at the hands of others. She is seeking justice in this story for those who can’t seek justice in real life. I cry every time I watch this scene.

The most strong and heart breaking scene I’ve ever seen..reminds me of my story with my family and how I managed to escape from them because of the tremendous cruelty I’ve been through..still Iam not safe but one day I will be.

She gives such a powerfull speech asking for justice, it's a shame that this was for nothing since in the end he chooses revenge by killing Fred. Like, girl, you said that you want justice, wtf.

Wanted to comment a lot more but my inner lawyer monologue would make me look like a pariah lol. I love June and this show and cry every single time watching scenes that I’ve seen dozens of times. I wouldn’t have defended that monster unless I had no choice but the blend between is murky.

Later on when Fred says June had to “present a narrative for the courts” in regards to this scene made me want to vomit and destroy the planet all at the same time. Disgusting.
