Cursed Totem is a powerful card that can see play in the right meta.

But the reason I don't think it'll see much play is that Needle, Spyglass, Revoker already exist, shutting down almost all of those creature combos you mentioned, while having much more other hits. Nobody is playing Totem over those in Legacy and Vintage

Flame Rift possibly in Rakdos Death's Shadow? Don't know how good that deck will be with Solitude ruining their day, but nuking both players is great for them.

I would love Riptide Lab to push Wizards into being a thing in Modern.

Goblin Bombardment also combos with Enduring Renewal (modern legal thanks to the reprint in Time Spiral) and any 0 mana creature, like Ornithopter. It's a 3 card game winning combo, a staple in the Old school format

I love Seth's positivity with Mishra's Factory. It's a budget option, but there's no way it'll replace Celestial Colonade, Mutavault, or Ink/Blinkmoth Nexus.

I've done some playtesting with Counterspell in my Esper Control deck and it is not a big ask to have 2 blue on turn 2. It's unconditional and a massive upgrade for control-based decks.

Imperial Recruiter is proof that reprint don't dimish value of the original cards. When this was announced people bought the P3 version and it went up in price.

I actually think Flame Rift might be good in more than just Burn decks. In Death's Shadow it can potentially be a good way of both hitting your opponent and pumping your main beatstick permanently. It might struggle to find a slot with all the Thoughtseizes and Street Wraiths going around but it seems to fit very well with more aggressive builds

I've been wanting to build a persist combo deck for ages. I'm hoping Goblin Bombardment is the missing piece that will make it a viable deck.

It means you can now have redundancy in all slots.

Great List! I'm happy with the Choices they made to print into Modern
However there are still some other Cards i'd love to see in Modern
Dust Bowl, Contamination and No Mercy especially
Also regarding Vindicate, there is now also this black Land Destruction Card i forgot the Name of, besides that, there are some other Black Land Destruction Spells
So one thing i will tinker with is a Black + some other Colour Land Destruction Deck, just for the Fun of it and because nobody will expect it in Modern Leagues

4 years ago I was talking about the impact counterspell would have in modern. I got laughed out of the room by people who said it would never happen. Now I want to talk about dark ritual and hymn to tourach in modern... Maybe in another 4 years.
