West Marine Gel Coat Repair Kit Review

Repairing some stress cracks on our transom door of our 2006 Meridian 341 using West Marine’s Gel Coat Repair Kit. learn from my mistakes and don't follow the instructions!!

I think you would have seen a more solid repair by first grinding the crack open a little more and filling it with a epoxy/resin mixture thickened with silica powder. After that, I'd apply the gelcoat and sand it into the appropriate shape rather than using plastic

That shit is garbage, ive been in repairs and boat building 40+ yrs. First. I would of ground, prep, glass, then body work, then gel. This repair has done nothing for the damage inside. This repair will last 1 to 2 yrs. And i have never needed wet sanding . 320 600 rough.. Thats a touch up/'not a repair. But good try.
