At 51, Alyssa Milano Finally Confirms Rumors Just After Shannen Doherty’s Death from Cancer

Alyssa Milano is paying tribute to her "Charmed" co-star, Shannen Doherty, following Doherty's death at 53 after a long battle with cancer. In a heartfelt statement to PEOPLE, Milano reflected on their complex relationship and the deep respect she had for Doherty. "It’s no secret that Shannen and I had a complicated relationship, but at its core was someone I deeply respected and was in awe of,” Milano, 51, said. “She was a talented actress, beloved by many, and the world is less without her. My condolences to all who loved her.”

Doherty's longtime publicist, Leslie Sloane, confirmed her passing in a statement, noting that the "devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie." Sloane added, "The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace."

Milano and Doherty shared the screen on "Charmed" from 1998 through 2001, portraying sisters alongside Holly Marie Combs. Despite their on-screen chemistry, the actresses had a tumultuous off-screen relationship, which made headlines over the years. In December 2023, Combs and Doherty accused Milano of being responsible for Doherty’s departure from the show, a claim Milano denied in a February 2024 Instagram post, attributing the decision to the late TV producer Aaron Spelling. Doherty, however, stood by her assertion during an appearance at MegaCon Orlando, stating, "We told it together, we told our truths and we are standing by our truths."

Honestly, i loved it better when Shannen Holly and Alyssa on first 3 seasons. Theyre chemistry as sisters were great(the fact that they had tension?… Made them all great actors). I know everybody is dragging Alyssa bcoz noone would say anything bad since Shannen died. But Shannen had patterns reportedly having conflict with other actirs she had worked with. And If Holly… the best friend( who by the way Shannen got her the job) Knew something was shady….? First of all, I love all the women of Charmed but I don't think Alyssa deserves to be hated so much, especially when she has apologized multiple times for the role she played! This happened ages ago and she admits that she was young and is now older and more mature. People deserve a 2nd chance. Just let her live her life! ❤❤
