Corey Haim was one of the most prominent child actors of the '80s. He starred in several hit movies that brought him instant success and fame. The Canadian actor is best remembered in movies like "Lucas," "Silver Bullet," "License to Drive," "Dream A Little Dream," and "The Lost Boys." The latter made him a household name with fellow actor Corey Feldman. They were dubbed “The Two Coreys,” became icons of the '80s, and appeared in seven movies together. But Haim, like many other child actors, failed to grapple with his early success and fame and faced a lot of trauma from his experience as a child actor which included emotional trauma and sexual abuse.

The drugs didn’t end him. Those monsters in Hollywood ended this poor kid. The drugs were used to numb the pain of what they did to him.

When I was young. 10, I adored Corey Haim, so I sent him a letter and he actually mailed me back an autographed picture post card with my name on it ♡ I was so ecstatic! RIP Corey, I'll always remember you and your kindness.

I had the opportunity to work with him on a film not long before he passed away. There was a scene where I had to wait with him in a garage before he had to be on camera. We randomly started singing bohemian rhapsody and rocking out going back and forth with the Galileo, Galileo part. You could tell there was a heaviness to him. That he carried sadness and hurt. I really hope he is free from that wherever he is now!

Corey’s portrayal of Lucas is one of the best child acting performances of all time. Right up there with Tatum O’Neal in Paper Moon and Ricky Schroeder in Champ. He was also great in one of my favorite childhood films Dream a little Dream. RIP Corey, and God bless.

All he needed was a friend he could trust. Someone to love.

Just watched this for the first time today. So you just glazed over the "abuse" . He, Feldman and other children in Hollywood were repeatedly sexually abused over several years. You did put a huge focus on his addiction issue . Not addressing how there was a direct connection to the sexual abuse. Drug and alcohol abuse is a way of numbing the pain of sexual, physical and mental abuse. Feldman fell into it as well. And Feldman was right. Hollywood did put negative attention on the two of them by putting a spotlight on their addictions in order to get rid of them. The people abusing them were part of the industry and didn't want the dirty little secret to get out. If you are not going to tell the whole story why tell it at all.

I was so in Love with him during my teens. Pictures on my locker and bedroom walls. Broke my heart to learn of his inner sadness and struggles. RIP my first Love Corey. ❤️

Make no mistake, Hollywood is pure Babylon. Once fame has you in its grip, it will refuse to let go until it has your soul. RIP Corey Haim.

It's crazy how a celebrity could go down hill towards the end but still be remembered as a icon and legend

Corey was great in so many 80's movies. It's sickening what happened to him. I wish I would have had the chance to meet him and thank him for the great memories from his movies. RIP Corey.

So sad. He was my very biggest crush when I was a kid back in the 80s. Damn drugs. 😔

As a little girl, I was head over heels for that boy! Something way different about him compared to the "typical heart throbs of Hollywood"! Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, there was just something about his eyes, smile, and his natural presence on the screen! I guess I never realized the abuse he endured back then, but breaks my heart for him along with any & all others that also were abused. No child especially, nor anyone male or female deserve to be abused like that! Makes me sick! Anyways, just felt like sharing my opinion on this, which is very unlike me, but considering I was also abused as a child for approximately 3 years, I know 1st hand how it messed with me so my heart aches for any child dealing with any form of abuse!
