they should drop the account plan price and charge only for the hosting plan.

I was so confused about who pays what and you basically cleared everything up for me. Thank you so much!

Hi Ran! Super informative video, thanks. Pretty much what I was looking for for weeks.

Is this correct?:
1. Sign up for a pro account.
2. Create client website as a project within account.
3. Register a free Webflow account for your client.
4. Transfer project to client's Webflow account.
5. Give them the login credentials.

They definitely need to simplify the plans for us. Makes sense but not easy to digest and understand when you land on the page for the first time..

Let me get this straight:
You as the web designer/developer: Have an ACCOUNT PLAN
-You create the client website, on YOUR Account
-If client approves of it

-You create them an account and have them pay a SITE PLAN
-THEN.. you transfer the website (yes?)
I ask this (regarding that client has to buy a SITE PLAN, before you transfer the website, to clients account. Since to my knowledge the free account only limits you to 2 static pages (e.g. home/about(or whatever)) and if the client website has more than 2 static pages (e.g. Home, About, Showcase, Services), wouldn't there be a conflict when transferring the website, due to the free plan limitation?

If you're transferring a full website to a clients free webflow account, how does this work seen as a free plan only permits 2 pages and has fewer features than the higher tier plans? Will the client lose these features? Awesome video btw!

Webflow stop being so confusing with your pricing!!!!

You're also limited to only 2 pages with the free account, so you can't actually do anything substantial for free. Just useful for trying out the tools and see what's possible. Or if you're making a single page website.

Some one the forums commented some time ago, but it seems this has not changed:

Either set up client billing for CMS hosting, build the assumed cost into a deposit or down payment, or eat the cost until you collect hosting fees are the only options that we’re left with really."

You got that Webflow content gap on lock Ran. All the best to you and yours!

What happens if you’ve made 10 projects on the lite plan but you can’t afford to keep paying for it. Will you lose 8 projects forever? Is there a way you are able to pick them up later?

Hi Greg. Thanks for the great video! I'm just starting out and I have been honestly confused by the multiple pricing options. One thing I wonder if you could clarify. You said at 4:05 that you open your clients a free Webflow account and then transfer the site to them. I though the free accounts only accepted sites with a maximum of 2 pages -- what if the site is bigger? I'm curious and still haven't got my first client to test it out.

Can you update this for 2021 please? You've done a great job, but a lot has changed in Webflow pricing.

Once you complete a client's website and then export the code to them, does it still count towards your 10 projects on the lite plan?

I had no idea you could transfer a website to another account for the client to deal with their own billing.

I thought the 10 site limit for Lite plan was pretty restrictive, when other platforms have limits around 25-30. But that makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for this clear explanation. Talk about CX or Customer journey - Webflow could use some of your clarity on communicating on how to engage with its customers. Utterly ridiculous and confusing as a first time user trying to set up and account after I'd viewed the non account pricing plans and then logging in for the first time. THANKS!

made some sense but you lost me when you started talking about how you send your site to your client and they pay for the hosting yet you pay for the account.

Here's the deal. A Webflow account is a subscription service costing either 16 or 35 bucks per month when paid annually. This only allows you to use the tool and post a site on a Webflow "staging server" or export the code, but any CMS or form functionality you've built "won't work, " and you can't use your own domain, i.e. they've gone out of their way to break that as strong incentive to buy their hosting service. If you want that functionality, you have to pay them to host the site for an ADDITIONAL 16 or 36 bucks per month, again if paid annually.
