I know that without cannabis I wouldn’t have made it to 72 years. Others tried to heal the trauma of being a debt slave with alcohol 🍺 and died. Cigarettes and died. Pharmaceutical antidepressants and died from suicide. I don’t care what you do to get yourself through the night. Cannabis is the best.

Not a doctor, but I smoked every single day for years and the best thing that made me feel great without being high was - Getting a good breakfast, take vitamin c pills 500 mg twice a day, sit out in the sun for at least 20 minutes a day, drink plenty of water. Doing just those things I feel as close to normal as Ive ever felt in my life. And it only takes just a day or 2 to start noticing differences in your mood, energy, sleep. Everything.

Thanks for this doc. You don’t know how much hope you’ve given me. I was so scared id have to keep using just to feel normal due to how my brain changed from using it every day since such a young age, but if i can really still heal myself even though my brain supposedly has stopped developing then theres hope.

Completely destroyed, can't even have a normal conversation with anyone without it becoming awkward due to me being incapable of collecting my thoughts and articulating them thoroughly.

I started loving my body after decades of drug use and now it’s time to start living my brain too. Marijuana helped me to get through the first couple years of no fentanyl and alcohol, but now it’s time to start the next chapter of my life and let go of the marijuana.

I've been a daily smoker for over 5 years and don't plan on quitting anytime soon and I really appreciate you informing the public on the risks of MJ. Keep up the great work!

Yes it heals over time. Exercise also helps.

it's a misconception that it hurts the brain at all. I have brain damage due to trauma and have never been able to focus, until picking up mj. It made it easier to think clearly, focus, have creative insight and feel emotions I've not been able to feel in a long time. I believe it heals the brain. I'm not sure why doctors across the globe believe otherwise.

This makes me so happy to hear. I plan on quitting again and I was afraid after the many years of cannabis use there would be no reversal. Thank you 😊

I love this DR! Thank you. There are a lot of people who say the damage is permanent. I know it takes time and hard work to recover but i refuse to believe it’s permanent. Thank you so much dr for being on the right side of this, to defend recovery, rather than demonizing and saying that we’re permanently messed up like some Drs say

Dr Amen says that 1, 200 mg twice a day of the supplement NAC, which is N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine, reduces the cravings for marijuana, alcohol and cocaine. NAC is also good for general health.

Even noticeable that you feel better on the first day sober. Its all just just coping and being bored. Hobbies, friends, and family is what matters guys.

I abused cannabis from the time I was 16 until I was 31, and sometimes I feel like I'll never be better. Its like it cemented my brain as a teenager

Also don't forget you will need time. The brain takes a while to change give it a year of consistent healthy lifestyle with daily exercise, clean diet and supplements like omega 3 and if you still suffer after that get professional help.
