There are blueprints online for those who want their own rotating light discs, as well as some pricey light boxes with those rotating disks in them,
But for the super duper cheap less than 50 bucks version - I've slapped a light tray thing (Amazon, 20 bucks) on top if a lazy suzan (Amazon, ~10 bucks or less) attached to a piece of cardboard lol. Ah I need to get a rechargeable light tray thing - the corded one I currently have rigged up, the cord is a bit in the way lol. Made it to see how often I'd really need/use one before splurging on the "real deal" lol

Upending traditional ideas.
While the situation for arts education is slowly improving, math and science programs still receive the lion's share of resources. Why is it that society still places a premium on educating left brain skills? To answer, we go back to the time of Plato. His philosophy wouldn't matter, except that Plato's teachings reverberate to this day.Good decisions, we are told, are rational, not intuitive. But is this true?
Einstein had a broader view.
Did Einstein rely exclusively on left brain abilities-such as logic and math- to develop his theory of relativity? Listen to the man and the answer becomes clear. Einstein valued creativity as much as reason. Einstein often linked a left-brain ability with a right-brain trait in a surprising way.
Einstein vs. Plato
Plato's view of the mind has been disproved by Sperry, Damasio, and other scientists.Yet the world is still pulled by Plato's notion that reason is supreme. That can cause problems. We need our rational mind.
Praising it excessively, though, can lead to harsh self- criticism that only serves to hold us back. This boils down to what is called the "should and shits", recurring negative self-talk, as" OMG, I should have done that", and "Oh shit, I didn't!".
Make no mistake; "Shoulds and shits" are the block between your head and your heart. Recommended at the start of an art project, that you close your eyes, breathe slowly, and open to a vision from the quiet . Don't let the bossy left brain tell you what you should do.
Though Einstein died before Sperry's Nobel Prize work was published, his view confirms what science has learned about our brains and how it works. He is a model for us. Einstein valued his whole brain, and used all his strengths, creative and rational.
What's needed is a balanced perspective that encompasses our strengths.Intuition can lead us astray, just as sole reliance on logic can produce impractical results. It's time to acknowledge that our best decisions, our best solutions, involve a combination of both feeling and reason.
